Meltdowns sensory toys

No meltdowns are the goal. Using sensory toys helps with meltdowns and focus. NO Meltdowns while using sensory toys.

Christian finds and tests new sensory toys. He shows how to use the toys he had found while exploring his world. This neurodiverse learner enjoys finding new items that make him feel happy and satisfy his sensory needs while helping him stay focused and calm.

Coping skills come in a lot of different forms. While staying home, Christian has a chance to test, use, and investigate new sensory toys that help with emotional regulation.

Dysregulation happens when a person can not find their ‘normal’ or middle ground for emotional stability. They need an extra push or help to regulate. Co-regulation is when someone or something helps to regulate a person’s emotions and mental state. Co-regulation is very helpful for most people and especially children.

Christian understands using breathing, 5,4,3,2,1, or 3x3x3 helps, but he enjoys sensory input to give him the stability he needs for regulation. Typically his self-regulation comes in the form of sensory items, fidgets, pencils, or other small items he can put in his hands or pockets.
