This has been a bad and good year for me. We started to think of the years as school years. This is my 8th grade year.
I am still in virtual school and homeschool with the extra things my Nana gives me to do each day. We still use the folders, have special science projects, and travel. This year, we also worked on the house.
I told my Nana I was ready to move. They were working on the house of the man who killed my mom, and I could not concentrate. I would stand on our porch, shoot soft pellets into the air, and yell. I would also go across the street and throw rocks into the drain. My Nana said it was ok as long as I did not hurt anything or anyone.
I made my mom a double heart-shaped flower garden, and the tulips and yellow flowers were coming up. It looked so nice, but all that was happening reminded me of how angry I was, and I wanted to move away from this house.
My Nana said, ‘Yes, we can move if you are sure it is time. I did not know I was going to do so much work to move. We had to redo our house and make it ready for moving. Boy, did the house look good when we were done.
The house sold very quickly, in one day! We had planned on going to Maine for the family reunion, but we did not think about buying another house. My Nana did buy a lot in Lake St, Cair, but that was not ready to live on or even be on. It was overgrown and a big mess. There was a hidden storage shed in the back that was falling down. It had a lot of car parts in it. I cleaned that out with my great-grandfather and his friend. I am hoping to sell the parts.
We stayed in a KOA camper cabin for the month until we went to Maine. I write about my Maine trip in a different blog post. That trip was so much fun! I love the mountains, and we saw a waterfall. My Nana broke her ankle when she fell in New York, but we still went on the trip.
When we got back from Maine, I had to register for school, and we bought a camper/RV that was small enough my Nana could drive, but big enough we had room. It was nice to be in. I had my own area. We lived in an RV park until we could get into a Duplex in Sullivan.
The duplex was so peaceful, I did not know we could have so much peace in a home. I had my own room and could see how to set it up when I walked into the duplex to see if this was the place we wanted to live. It was. I had been homeschooling for a while and started 8th grade in Jan in-person school. I had so much peace and was able to relax. I was ready to go to School.
Before I went to school, we took two more trips. Mississippi is the state we wanted to move to, but it was not ready, and we did not find a house. We traveled to Mississippi for Christmas. I have a blog on that trip also.
We also went to Georgia for my great-uncle’s funeral. It was a military funeral and was very different than anything I had seen before. His grave was in a line with those of other soldiers. It seems lonely with all the white graves. I don’t know how I feel about that.
We planned on moving back to the lot because the guys were clearing it out and fixing it so we could set up the camper, a shed, and our patio area. I got my dad’s old RZR and drove from my Nana’s lot to my dad’s house on the lake. I was in school- in-person school, so it was easier for all of us. When school starts next August 2024
